Description :: UMD 3.9.0 is the ninth update of the third Major release of UMD (Unified Middleware Distribution) made available for the EGI production infrastructure. This release contains support for both Scientific Linux 5 and 6 and also Debian 6 (Squeeze).

Accounting
- APEL, v. 1.2.2, versions for SL5 and SL6:
- This update fixes the issue of the client being unable to parse uncompressed accounting logs.
- DPM-argus plugin, v. 1.8.8, versions for SL5 and SL6:
- This release provides a little packaging fix to dpm-argus to make it work across EPEL and EMI, through different release numbers. dpm-argus now will work with any dpm-mysql-nameserver whose version is greater than 1.8.7.
- The fix also adds to the dpm-argus package the dpns-arguspoll manpage, which was left behind by mistake in the recent release of this component.
- dCache srmclient 2.2.27, versions for SL5 and SL6:
- This release fixes the export SRM_PATH bug in srmrmdir and the ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsException when processing multiple surls invoking srmget.
- EMI UI, v. 3.1.0, versions for SL5 and SL6:
- This is a repacking release just to add the new dependencies on gfal2-util & ginfo.
- GFAL2-util, v. 1.0.0, versions for SL5 and SL6:
- First
release in UMD of the GFAL 2 util which is a group of command line
tools for file manipulations with any protocol managed by gfal 2.0
- SRM-ifce, v. 1.20.0, versions for SL5 and SL6:
- Minor release in order to solve some bug fix like the excessive cpu usage from srm-ifce function or the Initialize time fields when stating/listing.
- MyProxy, v. 5.9.8-2, versions for SL5 and SL6:
- First release in UMD-3 of the popular MyProxy from Globus which allows to manage X.509 Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) security credentials (certificates and private keys).
- DAVIX, v. 0.3.6, versions for SL5 and SL6:
- This is a bug fix release which solves, among others, the OpenSSL issue with davix cmd line tools and password shell.
- BDII-core, v. 1.6.1, versions for SL5 and SL6:
- This is a minor release containing a set of new features and minor fixes to the following packages: bdii, glue-validator, glue-schema and glite-info-provider-service.
- QCG Broker EGI IS provider, v. 3.4.0, versions for SL5 and SL6:
- Initial version of Information Provider for GLUE 1.3 and GLUE 2.0
- CVMFS, v. 2.1.19, versions for SL5 and SL6:
- This
is the first release in UMD of the client of the CernVM File System
which is a network file system based on HTTP and optimized to deliver
experiment software in a fast, scalable, and reliable way.
- dCache server, v. 2.6.35, versions for SL5 and SL6:
- This release provides:
- fixes affecting multiple services: - The nfs and srm both cache replies from gPlazma to increase the speed of authenticating and identifying the user. Previously transient errors when communicating with gPlazma were also cached, delaying the recovery time from such errors. Now, such errors are not cached.
- NFS - No longer trigger an NullPointerException when opening the .(parent)() dot-command file in Chimera's root directory.
- POOL - Fix xrootd support for vector read. The problem was discovered with ROOT v6, which reports errors like Single readv transfer is too large.
- XROOTD - Fix problems when calculating a response to the kXR_set request. If encountered, the problem results in the following being logged, where nnn in xrootd-disk-nnn is some integer number: 'Uncaught exception in thread xrootd-disk-nnn java.lang.IllegalStateException: null'
- ARC, v. 13.11.2, versions for SL5, SL6 and Debian
- This update contains changes to the following component versions.
- Nordugrid ARC to 4.2.0
- Nordugrid ARC doc to 1.5.0
- Nagios probes for ARC CE to 1.8.1

- CREAM SLURM module,v. 1.0.2, versions for SL5 and SL6:
- This release provides a bug fix in the info-dynamic-scheduler-slurm namely SLURM provider should publish undefined values and missing check in triggerun
- CREAM LSF module, v. 2.0.4, versions for SL5 and SL6:
- This release provides multiple bugfix afecting the info-dynamic-scheduler and also an improved Glue2 support
- EMI WN, v. 3.1.0, versions for SL5 and SL6:
- This is a repacking release just to add the new dependencies on gfal2-util & ginfo.
- QCG Compute, v. 2.4.0, versions for SL5:
- This is a minor release which introduce some bug fix and Updated the Java SDK to use JGlobus 2.0.8 it also introduces a new package for application scripts.
- QCG Broker, v. 3.4.0, versions for SL5 and SL6:
- This
release provides a new release for both the broker and the client and
among several bugfix it provides support for parameter sweep jobs, new
resource filters and improvements in data transfers.
- WMS, v. 3.6.6, versions for SL5 and SL6:
- This is a bug fix release which provides a fix for the case were the WMProxy deletes a user delegated proxy on list-match operation and for the case were a CE can cause WMS to become very slow dealing with all other jobs. This release also contains a new version of the WMS UI which solves the issue of setting umask 0077 leading ot the issue that the sandbox was not writable by the WMS.
- QCG Notifier, v. 3.4.0, versions for SL5:
- This is a minor which introduce some bug fixes and also Disable the KEEP_ALIVE flag for the anonymous and SSL publishers.
- MPI, v. 1.5.3, versions for SL5 and SL6:
- This is an update release of mpi-start 1.x series that fixes the following issue: #12 - Wrong order in the list of hosts

- caNl, v. 2.2.4, versions for SL5, SL6 and Debian, containing:
- canl-c, v. 2.1.5:
- This revision fixes long-discussed certificate chain validation errors.
- canl-java, v. 1.3.3:
- This update solves two closely related bugfixes of OCSP handling:
- failing OCSP responders are now cached (up to now only responses were cached)
- the memory consumed by the in-memory cache of OCSP is now limited (was unconstrained).
- CGSI-gSOAP, v. 1.3.6, versions for SL5 and SL6:
- This update fixes:
- [LCGUTIL-55] - API to set/get at runtime the different possible credentials
- [LCGUTIL-384] - Remove compilation warnings on cgsi-gsoap
- [LCGUTIL-430] - Disable weak ciphers
- GFAL2, v. 2.6.8, versions for SL5 and SL6:
- This release presents several new functionalities and improvements among several bug fixes. Now Gfal2 provides xrootd and http supports as well as support for dCache.
- GFAL2-python, v. 1.5.0, versions for SL5 and SL6:
- Minor release which adds a buffer size parameter to the gfal-cp command and solves the issue of the Python bindings do not expose create parent option for copies.
- gfalFS, v. 1.5.0, versions for SL5 and SL6:
- This is a minor release which introduces a bug fix for the du command in mounted file system reporting 0 for each file.

Installation Notes :: All products in the UMD 3.9.0 release were verified against EGI's
current Quality Criteria (for further information, please see the
documentation links) to support 64 bit Scientific Linux 5 and Scientific
Linux 6 (x86_64 processor architecture). Some products are also
supported in 64 bit Debian 6 (squeeze). Installation and configuration
notes are available in the EGI repository.
