Description :: UMD 3.0 is the third Major release of UMD (Unified Middleware Distribution) made available for the EGI production infrastructure. This release contains support for both Scientific Linux 5 and 6 and also Debian 6 (Squeeze).

WMS 3.4.0 released in SL5 and SL6:
  • Major release which introduces GLUE 2.0 support, integration with Condor 7.8.0, new DAG engine replacing the previous DAGMAN functionality and also support for RFC proxies.
  • This release dismisses support for WMProxy Java and Python API
CREAM 1.15.1
  • EMIR integration.
  • CREAM TORQUE module 2.1.0
  • TORQUE server config 1.0.1-2 
  • Note: This version of CREAM automatically installs the APEL 2.1.0 clients. Please, read the CREAM and APEL additional details on wiki for further information about the deployment in production of the new APEL clients, or about how to use the old clients.
Information Model,Information Discovery:

BDII top v. 1.1.0 released both in SL5 and SL6
  • GLUE 2.0 LDAP URLs can now be used by both the site and the top BDII. This means that site resources and resources in GOCDB can be defined using their GLUE 2 LDAP URL.
  • Several fixes at packaging level to be EPEL compliant.
BDII core v. 1.5.0 released both in SL5 and SL6
  • Now ARC resources can now be published in the top level BDII.
  • EMIR integration: new YAIM function config_emir_serp is now available to automatically publish service information into EMIR.
  • Service information provider bug fixes and enhancements together with fixes at packaging level to be EPEL compliant.
BDII site v. 1.2.0 released both in SL5 and SL6
  • Service information provider bug fixes and enhancements together with fixes at packaging level to be EPEL compliant.

CANL v. 2.0.7
  • This release includes multiple bugfixes and implements support for additional security standards including OCSP and SHA2.
gLite-gsoap/gss v. 3.2.0
  • This is an EMI-3 release of GSS/gsoap-plugin. There were only packaging updates. The functionality remains unaffected.
APEL publisher v. 4.1.0
  • Major version and this version of APEL Publisher is compatible only with APEL Parsers 2.1.0 and above. Also support SLURM batch system.
  • New  capabilities available for accounting. 
  • Note: the deployment of the APEL clients requires particular attention, please read the additional details on wiki.

ARGUS v. 1.6.0 released in SL5, SL6 and Debian 6
  • Uses the new common authentication library (CANL) and new VOMS library (voms-api-java3).
  • Debian 6 platform support added.
glExec-WN 1.2.0 released in SL5 and SL6
  • Minor version with no new functionalities neverthelss it contaims many big fixes for Glexec, lcas, lcmaps and for the several lcmaps-plugins availabel.
  • Job Execution:
EMI-WN v. 3.0.0 released both in SL5 and SL6
  • Several bug fixes in many of the clients: Gridsite, lcg-info-system, yaim, voms. 
  • This version present a complete redesign of the VOMS clients based on the new VOMS Java 
TORQUE WN 1.0.0-3 
  • This version is a single repacking from the EMI-2 version.
Information Model:

L&B v. 4.0.4 released both in SL5 and SL6
  • This release of L&B introduces several new features, including the support for virtual machine state monitoring, registration of inter-entity relationships, URL-based job queries, customizable RSS feeds, branded look of L&B's HTML output, and other improvements. There are also multiple bug fixes.
  • Backward Incompatible: DB schema change. Configuration scripts update the DB automatically, manual update script provided.
File Access,File Transfer,Storage Management:

DPM 1.8.6 released in SL5 and SL6
  • This version is a single repacking from the EMI-2 version. No new functionality has been introduced.
Metadata Catalogue:

LFC 1.8.6 released in SL5 and SL6
  • This version is a single repacking from the EMI-2 version. No new functionality has been introduced.
Client Tools:
GFAL/lcg_util 1.14.0 released in SL5 and SL6
  • The new version of GFAL/lcg_Utils provides the possibility to enable IPV6 in gfal 2.0 grisftp plugin by the config file implementation
  • Important fixe related with the storm spacetoken which triggered timeouts.
EMI-UI 3.0.0 released in SL5 and SL6:
  • In this release there are improved functionalities in the several of the clients namely in the ARC, Unicore, VOMS and WMS. Several Bug fixes are also present.

APEL parsers v. 2.1.0
  • Major version and parser is only only compatible with APEL Publisher 4.1.0 and above.
  • Support added for SLURM batch system.
 gridsite v. 2.0.4 released in SL5 and SL6
  • gridsite_mod internals have been significantly refactored and new authentication features have been introduced by a dependence on EMI's common authentication library (caNl).
  • unused components removed: gsexec, slashgrid, gridsite-copy.cgi and gridsite-storage.cgi.
lcg-info-clients 1.0.1
  • This is a repackaged version of the EMI 2 release
glite-yaim-core 5.1.1
  • This release contain 2 bug fixes regarding the incorrect cleanup-grid-accounts path present in the config_users and the issue of the config_secure_tomcat keeps adding comments to tomcat6.conf.
IGE Technology Provider:
Globus-32-bit 5.2.4
  • Globus 32 bit libraries needed to satisfy emi-wn dependencies

Installation Notes :: All products in the UMD 3.00 release were verified against EGI's current Quality Criteria (for further information, please see the documentation links) to support 64 bit Scientific Linux 5 and Scientific Linux 6 (x86_64 processor architecture). Some products are also supported in 64 bit Debian 6 (squeeze).  Installation and configuration notes are available in the EGI repository.
