Description :: UMD 2.2.1 is a revision of  UMD 2.2.0 (Unified Middleware Distribution)  release  made available for the EGI production infrastructure. This release supports Scientific Linux 5 and 6.

This release contains the following products:

Job execution services:
Globus GRAM5 5.2.2 released for SL5 and SL6
  • Fixed a number of bugs found by OSG during high scalability testing.
  • Added job expiration and automatic cleanup for jobs that finish, but client does not do a final commit for several hours. This is configurable via RSL. Improves use of Condor-G for OSG.
  • Added site .rvf file support. This allows a site administrator to modify default RSL values and add or remove RSL attributes locally, without modifying packaged files. This allows configuration to remain when package updates are released.

Installation Notes ::

This is the third update of the UMD-2 that is made available for EGI's production infrastructure.  All products in the UMD 2.2.1 release were verified against EGI's current Quality Criteria (for further information, please see the documentation links) to support 64 bit Scientific Linux 5 and Scientific Linux 6 (x86_64 processor architecture). Some products are also supported in 64 bit Debian 6 (squeeze).

Change LOG :: UMD 2.2.1 contains GRAM5 first release in UMD-2 from IGE, this releases also solves a dependencies problem that prevented to install EMI-WN and EMI-UI from the UMD repositories described in ggus ticket no: 87794
