Description :: UMD 2.2.0 is the second update of UMD-2 (Unified Middleware Distribution) made available for the EGI production infrastructure. This release provides product updates from Technology Providers, as well as two new products.

This release contains the following products:
EMI Technology Provider:
Parallel Job:
MPI 1.3.0 released in SL5 and SL6:
- First release in SL6
- MPD startup of MPICH2 jobs enabled in non-shared home directory WN (bug #49)
- MPICH2 with hydra tested with Torque/PBS and SGE (bug #51)
- General improvement of documentation.
Authorization services:
ARGUS 1.5.9 released in SL5 and SL6:
- First release in SL6
- Argus 1.5 publish its GLUE2 information to BDII
- New Nagios probes available to monitor Argus 1.5
Job Execution services:
CREAM SGE module 2.0.0 released in SL5 and SL6:
- First release in SL6
- Glue2 support in the dynamic provider
LB 3.2.7 (contains features and bug fixes from 3.2.6) released for SL5:
- L&B 3.2 implements extended messaging capabilities (job history, anonymization), server-side statistics,
- finalized CREAM support, and provides fixes for multiple bugs identified in various stages of the product's life cycle.
- Documentation was updated to reflect the changes.
- Fixes for occasional notification interlogger crashes and problems with dumping and loading L&B events.
Attribute Authority services:
UNICORE UVOS 1.5.1 released in SL5, SL6 and Debian squeeze:
- First release in SL6 and Debian squeeze
- Bug in UVOS server was fixed, which resulted in extensive logging under server's heavy load
Credential Management services:
EMI-MyPROXY 1.0.1, IGE Globus MyPROXY 5.6.3 and gLite-proxyrenewal 1.3.25 released in SL5 and SL6:
- First release in SL6
- EMI MyPROXY uses IGE MyPROXY 5.6.3, it adds the yaim configuration and BDII for resource information publication.
- Bugfix release for the previous version of ProxyRenewal, fixing problems with VOMS attributes and anonymous MyProxy connections.
Information Discovery and Information Model:
BDII core 1.4.0 released in SL5 and SL6:
- Affects BDII site, BDII top and all services with BDII as resource information provider.
- A new cron job is run every hour to execute the glue-validator script and validate the information published by the BDII against glue 1.3 and glue 2.0 schema. The results are logged in:
- /var/log/glue-validator/glue1-validator.log
- /var/log/glue-validator/glue2-validator.log
- IPv6 support included with the new yaim variable BDII_IPV6_SUPPORT, which is set to "no" by default. If set to "yes";, it enables both IPv4 and IPv6 support.
- Fixed GLUE 2 bugs in the service information provider affecting VOMS and MyProxy, and improved the README files.
- glite-yaim-bdii cleaning removing old variables and functions. Fixed minor errors printed at configuration time (this affected only the top level BDII).
- emi-resource-information-service metapackage now depends on glite-yaim-bdii and glue-validaror-cron.
- Improved description and summary of glue-schema rpm.
Authentication:
gridsite 1.7.22 released in SL5 and SL6:
- Affects CREAM and WN
- Bugfix release for GridSite, addressing mod_gridsite failure on access from machines with no reverse DNS records.
Trustmanager 3.1.4 released in SL5 and SL6:
- Affects VOMS, ARGUS
- Fix for bug - "Trustmanager fails to read private keys that have text before the private key data"
Client API and Tools:
- GFAL/lcg_utils 1.13.0 released in SL5 and SL6:
- Affects UI and WN
- This is a 32/64 bit build of LCG_Util 1.13.0
- gfal2 first stable release, include support for:
- gfal 2.0 file transfer API
- gfal 2.0 gridftp plugin
- gfal 2.0 python bindings
- gfal 2.0 File system ( gfalFS, fuse tool )

Installation Notes ::
This is the second update of the UMD-2 that is made available for EGI's production infrastructure. All products in the UMD 2.2.0 release were verified against EGI's current Quality Criteria (for further information, please see the documentation links) to support 64 bit Scientific Linux 5 and Scientific Linux 6 (x86_64 processor architecture). Some products are also supported in 64 bit Debian 6 (squeeze).
