Description :: The Disk Pool Manager (DPM) is a lightweight storage solution for grid sites. It offers a simple way to create a disk-based grid storage element and supports relevant protocols (SRM, gridFTP, RFIO) for file management and access. It focus on manageability (ease of installation, configuration, low effort of maintenance), while providing all required functionality for a grid storage solution (support for multiple disk server nodes, different space types, multiple file replicas in disk pools).

In addition to the notes above, please read carefully the following.
The DPM team has discovered a critical bug in the new HTTP based drain commands implemented in the dmlite-shell and the lcgdm-dav component available in DPM 1.8.10. This version of DPM has been released in UMD 3.14.1. Using the new drain commands together with lcgdm-dav version <= 0.16.0 can lead to data loss in some circumstances.
If you have run the new drain commands at your site, please contact the DPM Development team through GGUS to understand if you also suffered this problem (data consistency check is needed).
In any case, please DO NOT use the new drain commands ( documented at https://svnweb.cern.ch/trac/lcgdm/wiki/Dpm/Dev/Dmlite/Shell#Newfunctionality:Drain
) and until the fixed components are released please continue to use the old dpm-drain command.
