Browsing Releases in: UMD-2

This category lists all releases included in UMD-2. There are two ways to configure the necessary repositories for UMD-2

Scientific Linux

  • RPM based configuration

    On each production machine that is to be configured for using the UMD repositories, site administrators must follow the installation instructions given below:

    1. Remove all UMD and EPEL related configuration files that may exist from /etc/yum.repos.d so that there is no misconfigured epel or UMD repositories.
      Note be careful not to remove the OS or other necessary repo configuration files
      execute rm /etc/yum.repos.d/UMD-* /etc/yum.repos.d/epel-*
    2. Install the appropriate EPEL repository for you distribution from the fedora project
      e.g. if you’re using SL5, install EPEL5 by executing
      wget http://download.fedoraproject.org/pub/epel/5/x86_64/epel-release-5-4.noarch.rpm
      yum install epel-release-5-4.noarch.rpm

      whereas, if you’re using SL6, you can install EPEl6 by executing
      wget http://download.fedoraproject.org/pub/epel/6/x86_64/epel-release-6-8.noarch.rpm
      yum install epel-release-6-8.noarch.rpm
    3. Install yum-priorities RPM
      execute yum install yum-priorities
    4. Install SL5 umd-release RPM or SL6 umd-release RPM, according to your distribution, that adds all missing repositories that are needed for the installation of UMD products and configures yum priorities
      e.g. execute wget http://repository.egi.eu/sw/production/umd/2/sl5/x86_64/updates/umd-release-2.0.0-2.el5.noarch.rpm
      yum install umd-release-2.0.0-2.el5.noarch.rpm
    5. In case you are updating from a previous UMD installation make sure you have first imported the UMD signature
      by executing rpm –import http://repository.egi.eu/sw/production/umd/UMD-RPM-PGP-KEY otherwise yum will exit with errors regarding the UMD GPG keys.
  • Manual Configuration

    The Production sites will need to configure the following repositories

    • The Main OS Repository
    • EPEL repository: follow the installation notes available at EPEL
    • EGI Trust Anchor Repository: use the .repo files at EGI CAs repository
    • UMD Production Repository: use the .repo files at UMD repository

    It is required to set the UMD repository with the highest priority in order to avoid possible discrepancies with EPEL.
    In order to do this, you will need to install yum-priorities package and verify that the .repo file for UMD has

    protect=1
    priority=1

    Also make sure that your /etc/yum/pluginconf.d/priorities.conf file has

    [main]
    enabled = 1
    check_obsoletes = 1

Debian

    On each production machine that is to be configured for using the UMD repositories, site administrators must follow the installation instructions given below:

  • Deb Based Configuration

    1. Download and import the UMD APT key for the Debian repositories by following the procedure below:

      $ wget http://repository.egi.eu/sw/production/umd/UMD-DEB-PGP-KEY -O /tmp/umd.key
      $ apt-key add /tmp/umd.key

    2. Download and import the EGI IGTF APT key for the Debian repositories by following the procedure below:

      $ wget https://dist.eugridpma.info/distribution/igtf/current/GPG-KEY-EUGridPMA-RPM-3 -O /tmp/IGTF.key
      $ apt-key add /tmp/IGTF.key

    3. Get the latest Squeeze umd-release deb that adds all missing repositories that are needed for the installation of the UMD products
      from http://repository.egi.eu/sw/production/umd/2/debian/dists/ check both squeeze and squeeze updates
      e.g execute
      $ wget http://repository.egi.eu/sw/production/umd/2/debian/dists/squeeze/main/binary-amd64/umd-release-2.0.0_all.deb
      $ dpkg -i umd-release-2.0.0_all.deb
  • Manual Configuration

    The Production sites will need to configure the following repositories

    • EGI Trust Anchor Repository: use the .list files at EGI CAs repository
    • UMD Production Repository: use the UMD-2-base.list and UMD-2-updates.list files in your /etc/apt/sources.list.d directory at UMD repository
    • Then follow follow steps 1 and 2 above and execute apt-get update
