Software Decription

middleware ready to install as relased by the products teams

Abstract

The first release of Preview is a mirror of the EMI3 repository, containing the Update 29 (11.11.2015) – v. 3.17.1-1
http://www.eu-emi.eu/releases/emi-3-monte-bianco/updates

The updates announced by the several products will be grouped and released as a Preview update on a monthly basis.

Note: EGI provides the preview repository without any additional quality assurance process, but the products are released as they are provided by the product team. EGI recommends the use of the UMD repositories, which contain software verified through the quality assurance process of UMD.

Community Release: preview.repository 1.22.0

ARC 15.03 update 20

The Advanced Resource Connector (ARC) middleware is an Open Source software solution to enable distributed computing infrastructures with the emphasis on processing large volumes of data. ARC provides an abstraction layer over computational resources, complete with input and output data movement functionalities. The security model of ARC is identical to that of Grid solutions, relying on delegation of user credentials and the concept of Virtual Organisations. ARC also provides client tools, as well as API in C++, Python and Java.

Release notes

This is a bugfix release, mainly to address a problem causing job failures in certain circumstances. In addition some build fixes are included related to openssl 1.1.1 and python, new ARCHERY endpoint types are added to the endpoint retrieval plugin and monitor, and a fix related to GLUE2 is included.

NorduGrid ARC 15.03 has received an update to:

  • core, clients, CE, Infosys and gridftp – from version 5.4.3 to 5.4.4
  • documents – from 2.0.20 to 2.0.21

Gangliarc, Nagios plugins and metapackages are unchanged. .

davix 0.7.2

davix is a C++ toolkit for advanced I/O on remote resources with HTTP based protocols.

Release notes:

dCache 4.2.29

dCache provides a system for storing and retrieving huge amounts of data, distributed among a large number of heterogeneous server nodes, under a single virtual filesystem tree with a variety of standard access methods.

STORM 1.11.15

The StoRM Product Team is pleased to announce the release of StoRM 1.11.15 that includes the following updated components:

This release:

  • avoids an indefinitely growth of the threads queue size due to the the incoming requests to Frontend and the consequent block of the acceptor thread;
  • fixes the maxThread Backend setting which wasn’t honored as expected;
  • improves Backend’s startup thanks to a refactoring of the init scripts;
  • allows to specify multiple WebDAV endpoints to be published through the info provider, by using a new YAIM variable STORM_WEBDAV_POOL_LIST (read more here);
  • fixes minor issues on YAIM and storm-info-provider;
  • implements basic support for Third-Party-Copy in the StoRM WebDAV service which needs to be properly configured in order to make service working after the update (read more here);
  • clears old code and stuff related to deprecated variables from YAIM, Backend and Frontend.

Please, follow the upgrade instructions.

Read the release notes for more details.

xrootd 4.9.0

XRootD software framework is a fully generic suite for fast, low latency and scalable data access, which can serve natively any kind of data, organized as a hierarchical filesystem-like namespace, based on the concept of directory. As a general rule, particular emphasis has been put in the quality of the core software parts.

APEL Client/Server 1.8.0

APEL is an accounting tool that collects accounting data from sites participating in the EGI and WLCG infrastructures as well as from sites belonging to other Grid organisations that are collaborating with EGI, including OSG, NorduGrid and INFN.

The accounting information is gathered from different sensors into a central accounting database where it is processed to generate statistical summaries that are available through the EGI/WLCG Accounting Portal.

Statistics are available for view in different detail by Users, VO Managers, Site Administrators and anonymous users according to well defined access rights.

More information on the APEL page.

Release notes:

  • [client] Added warning in log if no records are unloaded during a run.
  • [parsers] Added optional ’cputmult’ factor to HTCondor parser to support its use as a parser for HTCondorCE set ups.
  • [server] Added PID/process check to summariser to prevent overlapping runs.

davix 0.7.1

davix is a C++ toolkit for advanced I/O on remote resources with HTTP based protocols.

Release notes:

dCache 3.2.46

dCache provides a system for storing and retrieving huge amounts of data, distributed among a large number of heterogeneous server nodes, under a single virtual filesystem tree with a variety of standard access methods.

DMLite 1.11.0

DMLite is a plugin-based C++ framework that gives functionality for namespace management, pool management and i/o access. More information on the website.

Release notes: http://lcgdm.web.cern.ch/dpm-release-111-0

Dynafed 1.4.0

The Dynamic Federations system allows to expose via HTTP and WebDAV a very fast dynamic name space, built on the fly by merging and caching (in memory) metadata items taken from a number of (remote) endpoints. More information.

Release notes: http://lcgdm.web.cern.ch/dynafed-140-released-epel

gfal2 2.16.1 and gfal2-python 1.9.5

GFAL (Grid File Access Library ) is a C library providing an abstraction layer of the grid storage system complexity. The version 2 of GFAL tries to simplify at the maximum the file operations in a distributed environment. The complexity of the grid is hidden from the client side behind a simple common POSIX API.
