UMD 1.8 is the tenth release of UMD-1 (Unified Middleware Distribution) made available for the EGI production infrastructure. This release provides security updates from Technology Providers.

- BLAH 1.16.6 update, fixes the problem of the bupdater for LSF which can leave job in IDLE state due to a timestamp problem.
- gLite-gsoap/gss 3.0.3 update, fix a bug of the plugin by fixing buffer under-run during setting proxy filename. Remember that GSS module should be updated when globus-gssapi-gsi >= 10.6 (globus >= 5.2.1) is used.
- On this new release of gridftp among several bug fixes, provided support for default disk and network stacks: globus-gridftp-server options -dc-default and -fs-default. It is also added server support for setting file modification time and added ability (MLSC) to stream directory listings over the control channel.
This is the tenth release of the UMD-1 that is made available for EGI's production infrastructure. Installation and configuration notes are available in the EGI repository
